My Journey & The Wisdom That Guides My WorkMy Journey & The Wisdom That Guides My Work
My path with Toltec wisdom began not just as a teacher, but as a woman unraveling my own stories. Every time I stood before my own Smokey Mirror, I saw reflections shaped by family, culture, and experiences I didn’t choose. I also saw glimpses of something deeper — a quiet truth beneath the noise.
Toltec wisdom taught me how to see clearly. It gave me language for what I felt and tools to meet my own reflection with compassion, curiosity, and courage.
This is the heart of my work today. I guide women who’ve read The Four Agreements and feel called to go further — to take those teachings off the page and into the messiness and beauty of real life. Through Women of the Smokey Mirror and other gatherings, I offer space to pause, reflect, and remember who you are beneath all the conditioning.
What is the Smokey Mirror?
In Toltec tradition, the Smokey Mirror represents the world of illusion — the stories, beliefs, and agreements we inherit and carry. They create a fog between us and reality. We see life, and ourselves, through that smoke. But when we learn to clear the mirror, we reclaim our clarity. We see ourselves, and life itself, with fresh eyes.
If you’re ready to step into your own reflection, I’d love to walk beside you.
As a woman, a mother, and an immigrant, I walk this path not only for myself, but in honor of the women who came before me, especially my grandmother Sarita, who began sharing her healing gifts over 100 years ago.
Her voice, her prayers, and her strength echo through my work today.
It’s a blessing to be part of the Ruiz family, and for the past fifteen years, I’ve worked closely with my family to share these teachings with the world. But my work is also deeply personal, an expression of my own path, woven with the voices of all the women who shaped me.
